IMPORTANT - Please do not confuse the departmental
supplement linked to the UCLA Graduate Admissions Office (GAO) with
the Department Application.
These are two very different applications.
Applicants must file a UCLA Application for Graduate Admission with a
personal check, money order, bank draft, or by credit card (on-line payment),
for $60.00 (US Citizens and Permanent Residents) $80.00 (all other applicants),
made payable to the Regents of the University of California. Please
be advised that applicants who submit a completed application to the department
but fail to pay the Graduate Admissions Office the $60.00 or $80.00 fee
will jeopardize having their application processed.
3) Take me to the Requirements page that lists all of the additional required
materials that I need to submit to apply for a Master or a PhD in Biomedical
Engineering.
CHECK APPLICATION STATUS (top of page)
Checking for materials received and those not received
The status of an application is only available on-line.
Applicants are urged to follow-up the receipt of documentation frequently
at the Graduate Admissions' (GAO) website at the following URL: https://www.gradadmissions.ucla.edu/newapp/.
PLEASE NOTE:
The status of an application is updated as soon as documentation is received
and appears on the on-line Application Status Screen two to three
business days after the application fee has been remitted. However,
because of the enormity of application materials received as the deadline
approaches, i.e., between December 1 - 15, it becomes impossible to perform
on-line entry of materials being received immediately during this period.
We therefore urge you to do all you can to make certain materials are
sent to us before this time period which will assist us greatly with update
entry and allow you to view updated entry as documentation is being received.
However, for application materials being sent between December 1 -15,
please check on the status of these materials no sooner than January 10th,
on-line, at the URL mentioned above. Since each piece is stamp dated,
they will not be considered as received after the deadline. If after January
10th the on-line application status screen continues to show documentation
not received, this indicates that the Department still did not receive
the material(s) and it should be sent again; such documentation will not
be considered as being received late. Do not call the Department for the
status of an application.
CHECK DECISION STATUS (top of page)
Checking the result of your application
All applicants are guaranteed an admission decision
on their application no later than the national deadline to inform applicants
on admission status which is April 1st. The BME IDP program
no longer sends paper decision letters through the US post; all decisions
are forwarded via email. In addition, applicants can check the decision
result of their application through the online decision release service
located at the following URL: https://www.gradadmissions.ucla.edu/newapp/
Applicants can begin checking their application decision result at
this site starting March 1st. The deadline to respond
to admission and award offers as published by the Council of Graduate
Schools in the United States is April 15th of each year.
The BME IDP program upholds to this deadline date.
PLEASE NOTE: The decision status on an application is not given over the
phone nor through an email inquiry to the BME IDP Program.
