MISSION AND OVERVIEW
The Biomedical Engineering Interdepartmental Program (BME IDP) is a graduate program that grants both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The students in the IDP come from a variety of academics backgrounds, ranging from biochemistry to electrical engineering. Similarly, the faculty in the IDP is comprised of professors from the Schools of Engineering and Applied Science, Medicine, Dentistry, and the College of Letters and Science. Recognizing that tools from different fields are necessary for attacking difficult biological problems, the faculty conducts research that is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary in nature.
